Connect Relay to your AI assistant
Relay gives ChatGPT or Claude a notebook that remembers your work from one chat to the next. We’ll walk you through it one click at a time.
1. Which assistant do you use?
Connect your Relay account.
Already connected? Try a saveYou can also select and copy the text.
In Codex, add Relay as a remote HTTP MCP server using your Relay link above. Complete the assistant’s OAuth sign-in flow, then start a new session with Relay enabled.
These coding assistants may require developer setup. For a guided browser experience, choose Claude.
Use the same Relay account and sign-in method in every assistant. Review permissions before allowing access.
Try a save
After connecting, paste this small example into your assistant. It creates a separate setup topic in your account.
You can also select and copy the text.
Come back here after the assistant reports a saved revision. If this browser is signed out, sign in with the same Relay account to check your save.
What to expect
Signing in gives your assistant permission to use Relay. A saved topic confirms that it actually sent notes to your account.
An install button cannot approve permissions for you. Relay will only show a verified save after finding this example in your account.
Is this safe?
You sign in to Relay yourself. Codex never sees your Relay password, and you can disconnect it any time from your account.
Will it read my old chats?
No. Relay only keeps what you ask your assistant to save, from now on.
Use more than one assistant?
Connect them all to the same Relay account and they share the same notes.
